S•E•B STRATEGY LIMITED has an impressive – and growing – portfolio of international clients

Department for International Development (DFID), UK : S•E•B Strategy has carried out a number of assignments for DFID. Notably: Review of support provided to the Timor Leste Consolidated Support Programme - for DFID South-East Asia; a review of support provided to Nigeria’s EITI programme; and the design of a new oil sector transparency programme for DFID-Nigeria.

GTZ, Germany :  GTZ is the German government owned technical cooperation company.  S.E.B. Strategy Ltd has worked with them on mining governance issues in Liberia and Sierra Leone.

International Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative Secretariat, Oslo, Norway  : The International EITI Secretariat is responsible for turning the policy decisions of the EITI Board into action, and for coordinating worldwide efforts in implementing the EITI. S.E.B. Strategy Ltd helped the EITI Secretariat to develop Talking Transparency: A Guide to Communicating the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative.

InWEnt – Capacity Building International, Berlin, Germany : InWEnt is a non-profit organisation with worldwide operations dedicated to human resource development, advanced training, and dialogue for experts and executives from government, the business community and civil society. S•E•B Strategy works with InWEnt to provide training on extractive industry transparency issues for government, private sector and civil society representatives from around the world. 

The Revenue Watch Institute (RWI), New York, USA : The Revenue Watch Institute is a non-profit policy institute, and grant-making organisation, which promotes the responsible management of oil, gas and mineral resources for the public good. S•E•B Strategy provides policy advice and research services to RWI and has been responsible for producing two RWI publications - EITI: Beyond the Basics and The Case for Company-by-Company Reporting of Data in the EITI.  We also are involved in supporting their programme on promoting transparency at the sub-national level.  This has included working with the Government of Bayelsa State to design an expenditure and income transparency programme, and with civil society groups in Indonesia involved in developing transparency mechanisms in two provinces there.

The Transparency and Accountability Initaitive:  S.E.B. Strategy Ltd has been hired to lead the natural resources research theme in the Transparency Accountability Initiative.  The initiative is a donor collaborative that includes the Ford Foundation, Hivos, the International Budget Partnership, the Omidyar Network, the Open Society Institute, the Revenue Watch Institute and the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation.  The Initiative aims to create a more coherent, relevant and effective community of practice, and to increase the impact, coordination and breadth of funding available for transparency and accountability work.  

 

Sefton Darby is also retained to provide on-going consultancy support to The World Bank, Washington D.C., USA as an independent consultant to the Bank’s Oil, Gas, and Mining Policy & Operations Division. Sefton Darby’s work includes ongoing support for their EITI programme, including training of staff in regional development banks, researching a variety of EITI-related issues, and supporting programmes in Africa and the Asia-Pacific  Most recently this has included working to promote mining sector transparency issues in the Solomon Islands.
