- Sefton Darby has been closely involved in the emergence of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI), initially helping to develop EITI policy for DFID in the UK, and then working with the World Bank to support EITI programmes in a significant number of countries in West Africa, the former Soviet Union, and Asia.

Strategy Ltd on two projects in Nigeria - working with the UK Department for International Development (DFID) to support oil sector transparency at the national level, and working with the Revenue Watch Institute and the Government of Bayelsa State to design a state-level expenditure and income transparency initiative.
- Currently a PhD candidate at the University of Cambridge. Graduate of the Legon Centre for International Affairs at the University of Ghana, and Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
